While Valentine's Day thrives with affection and romance, a new limited-edition collection by Woodford Reserve and Compartés is aiming to further heighten the celebratory spirit.
Inspired by the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon, this premium chocolate and bourbon bundle provides the ideal blend of indulgence to savor the occasion with that special someone.
Crafted with meticulous attention by two passionate teams, the collection pairs gourmet confections with a carefully aged whiskey. The result is a seamless fusion of flavors, with the rich cocoa notes complementing the complex oak and vanilla tones. This is a duo designed to intertwine on the palate.
The chocolate itself offers an array of tastes to explore with flavors like butterscotch, pear nutmeg, oak-smoked salt caramel and maple pecan. Each has been consciously created to accentuate key characteristics of the beverage it accompanies. This enables the two components to harmonize beautifully with every bite and sip.
Beyond premium ingredients, what makes this pairing truly exceptional is the approach behind it. Two talented artisans—Compartés chocolatier Jonathan Grahm and Woodford Reserve master distiller Elizabeth McCall—collaborated closely, tasting and adjusting until arriving at the optimal formulations. The project was handled start-to-finish by devoted hands intent on achieving quality.
“Jonathan Grahm is a true genius and artist,” McCall said. “The tasting notes of wood, spice and florals found in the chocolates align perfectly with the flavors found in Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.”
Added Graham, “The flavors in bourbon are so complimentary to the flavors in chocolate, so partnering with Woodford Reserve was a perfect match… I don’t think there’s another bourbon and chocolate pairing that is truly as perfect and in sync as Double Oaked and the chocolate truffles we’ve created.”
Available for purchase on Reserve Bar, the Compartés x Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bundle is inclusive of a 750 mL bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and a four-piece chocolate box.
