Tihany selected an elegant collection of sofas, lounge chairs and tables that reflect a modern design scheme and draw from the vibrant hues of the carpet.
As much as we want things in Palm Beach to stay the same—tradition, heritage, legacy—it is equally as magical when they change. Enter Adam D. Tihany of Tihany Design. Conceived by Tihany himself and produced by Sacco Carpet, The Breakers Palm Beach’s historic lobby has been refreshed with custom-designed handtufted carpet that highlights with the space’s vaulted ceilings and Renaissance-esque details. A botanical motif winds underfoot, featuring bouquets of lilies, amaranths, irises and other native South Floridian florals invoking an enchanted garden feel. “The lobby showcases our history as an evolving one-of-a-kind destination and reflects the dedication of our family ownership to invest in the property for the long term,” said Tricia Taylor, executive vice president and general manager of The Breakers. “We turned to Adam and his team for inspiration to elevate our lobby to its most captivating potential.” The carpet itself was a labor of love, with 35 individual weavers on the loom working with the finest available New Zealand yard in 70 unique colors. The 200-foot-long lobby now houses the 161-foot-long bespoke carpet that delights visitors with color bursts and enchantment upon arrival. For out-of-towners, staycationers and anyone in between, the new lobby is sure to evoke the charm of yesteryear with an elevated contemporary appeal. 1 S. County Road
The floral-driven carpet complements the weekly in-house iconic flower displays, a lobby staple.
