The city’s top chefs, sommeliers, brewers and mixologists gathered at the Taste of the Nation event to show off their best concoctions.
THE PARTY In support of No Kid Hungry’s mission to end childhood hunger in America, the gala, filled with booths, bites and bubbly libations galore, made for a delicious smorgasbord where guests could sample as they pleased. More than 50 of the area’s top tastemakers were present, and guests grooved to the live jazz band and DJ while nibbling. THE GUESTS Industry leaders, foodies and philanthropists were in attendance, but the true stars were the chefs, including co-chairs Lindsay Autry (The Regional Kitchen & Public House), Zach Bell (Addison Reserve), Clay Conley (Buccan, Imoto, Grato), Julien Gremaud (Avocado Grill) and Tim Lipman (Coolinary Cafe, Parched Pig); and master sommelier Virginia Philip (Virginia Philip Wine Spirits & Academy). THE HIGHLIGHTS A riveting live auction featured luxurious items like a private dinner at home for 12, given by all the chefs and co-chairs, as well as an “instant wine cellar” with more than 100 bottles of wine ranging from $15 to $100. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the event went to benefit No Kid Hungry.
