Palm Beach isn't only for retirees anymore. In fact, Palm Beach County is growing fast, and young people are choosing to make it home over major urban cities like Boston and New York. As Wall Street, hedge funds and private equity firms set up offices in downtown West Palm Beach and along the tony Royal Palm Way, the next wave of residents are making PB the place to be.

Jessie Schuster
Interior designer Jessie Schuster can still taste the apple pancakes from The Ambassador Hotel from her childhood. “I’ve grown up coming to Palm Beach—first to visit my great-grandparents, then my grandparents and, now, my parents. It’s my home away from home.” As a fourth-generation Palm Beacher, Schuster knows how special the island’s history is to those who have been here a long time. “Just as I think I know everything about Palm Beach, I discover something unique. At every turn, there is the juxtaposition of new and old, yet what makes Palm Beach so charming is its integrity and tradition that remains intact. This wealth of information has served as a guideline for Schuster’s local projects. Her design team offers a full range of design capabilities, including interior architecture, project management and procurement. “Working in Palm Beach is unparalleled and one of my favorite places, not only because it’s home,” continues the talented young designer, who participated in this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House, “but because it allows me to create the dreamiest of spaces.”
Lilly Leas Ferreira
As the new general manager of The Royal Poinciana Plaza, Lilly Leas Ferreira is no stranger to Palm Beach. In fact, her family connection goes way back and she is the granddaughter of Palm Beach fashion icon Lilly Pulitzer. “As a fourth-generation native, my family roots run deep in Palm Beach, and being surrounded by family is one of the many reasons that working, living and playing here is so special,” says the young mother of a newborn baby girl. “The sense of community is something I get to bring to work with me every day as we design a new family-oriented program for The Royal Poinciana Plaza, following many others implemented over the past few seasons. As general manager, I oversee an incredible on-site team, and we are building relationships with members of our community far and wide.”
