Korinne Belock’s outdoor oasis at her home in West Palm Beach
Owner of the treasured Palm Beach Regency showroom, Korinne Belock is the ultimate tastemaker when it comes to the island’s signature vintage style.
Tell us about Palm Beach Regency and what makes it special. Palm Beach Regency (palmbeachregency.com) is the dot on the map where Hollywood Regency flair meets Old Florida charm. We operate a 5,000-square-foot vintage furniture and decor showroom that truly epitomizes the area’s signature style. In addition to our warehouse and new showroom space, we also operate an online shop with active sales and shipping across the country and internationally.
Korinne and D.J. Belock are owners of Palm Beach Regency.
What is your background and how did you get into vintage? Prior to buying Palm Beach Regency in March of 2021, I spent a decade turning my former business, Urban Simplicity, into one of the early, premier organizing businesses in the United States with operations in New York City and Palm Beach primarily. Spending thousands of hours in clients’ homes gave me a sense of all sorts of interior design styles, as well as what people want, use, and need. Over the years while furnishing a rental on the island and then our home in El Cid, I became friendly with the previous owners of Palm Beach Regency, and in 2020 they asked if I’d be interested in buying the business. It took about two seconds for me to say yes! It just naturally felt like the right time for a new challenge, for both me and my husband, D.J., a former investment banker and real estate and private equity executive.

When it came to designing your own home, what was your vision? We have always been island lovers, traveling extensively around the Caribbean. So, when we landed in Palm Beach in 2017, the design aesthetic really resonated with us. Our home is a 1920s Spanish-style home in West Palm Beach’s historic El Cid neighborhood. To maintain the history and integrity of our home’s age, we only did minor cosmetic renovations in the main house. Then we filled our home with vintage furniture and décor pieces collected over the last ten years, with each room featuring many one-of-a-kind pieces from Palm Beach Regency.

How would you describe your signature style? Collected, carefree, and coastal. Personally, my most special finds have been from my travels over the last 10 years. Every room in our home has a unique piece like the carved coconut shell made by a friend in Anguilla or vintage rugs from Marrakech and Guatemala. My two favorite past times are travel and treasure hunting, so that’s reflected in both my personal style and my home’s vibe.

Are there any trends you are seeing in South Florida right now? With so many people moving here in the last two years, it’s been so much fun to meet them in the shop and introduce them to South Florida’s signature coastal chic style. Palm Beach is the epicenter of vintage style. There is an innate love here for old, beautiful, unique things from homes to furniture to fashion. Classic Old Florida rattan pieces are really having a moment and mix so well with old and new in a home. With vintage there is no lead time for production, so we’ve had great success with upholstered pieces like pairs of chairs, sofas, and benches in fun, Palm Beach fabrics. Faux bamboo pieces like dressers and nightstands are the pinnacle of classic Palm Beach. And, of course, we’re known for our whimsical accessories and lamps, so we’re always on the hunt.

What advice do you have for folks who are vintage shopping for their own homes? Whether you gravitate to Old Florida rattan or Palm Beach faux bamboo, there is a way to bring all those styles together. There should be freedom to decorate your home—no rules! I always tell people in the shop, if you love it, you’ll always find a place for it. And if the idea of shopping for vintage feels overwhelming to you, let us help you!
What’s the future hold for your business? We’re so excited about expanding Palm Beach Regency. While our Lake Park warehouse will remain open for business as usual, our new Showroom and Design Studio, in West Palm Beach’s emerging SoSo Design District, will provide a second location and offer a more hands-on approach to assisting both interior designers and regular customers alike.
