It was a memorable culinary experience and season kickoff to benefit No Kid Hungry at Palm Beach favorite, Buccan.
THE PARTY Florida’s top chefs came together to create a delectable five-course meal for the sixth annual No Kid Hungry event, which raised more than $320,000—equaling approximately 3.2 million meals—for children struggling with hunger. THE GUESTS Chef Clay Conley of Buccan hosted guest chefs Dale Talde of Talde, Aaron Brooks of Edge Steak & Bar, Lindsay Autry of The Regional Kitchen & Public House, pastry chef Janderyn Makris of Earth & Sugar, and master sommelier Virginia Philip of the Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy, along with event chairs Nadine Allen and Mary Quick. THE HIGHLIGHTS The live auction led by “The Culinary MC,” Billy Harris was chock-full of specialty gifts. Each dish was as photoworthy as the chic interior space with pops of bright orange—the token color of No Kid Hungry. Elliott Gaskins, managing director of development at Share Our Strength, the organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign, said, “It’s more than just feeding a kid… we are giving them the opportunity to be their best selves.” Cheers to that. -Charlotte Otremba
