Never Too Late to Graze at Grato

Grato adds a much needed late night cocktail and dinner menu for the city's late owls.
Grato's late-night happy hour is offeredSunday through Thursdayfrom 9 until 10pm, andFriday and Saturdayfrom 10 until 11pm.

GRATO, known for spot-on modern interpretations of Italian standards, is handing out tardy slips for those who can’t quite make their early happy hour. “We decided to start a second late-night round,” says Gareth Morgan, executive chef for the Ember Group. “We have wood-fired pizzas, signature cocktails and wines.” The pizza toppings rotate with the seasons, but expect a couple of mainstays. Among its most beloved is the Buccan mushroom pizza with its creamy fontina cheese and generous layers of oyster and truffle mushrooms. Once only available at Buccan, its sister restaurant located on the island, this favorite has been transplanted to its hipster sibling, along with a late night eye-opener: the Cubano pizza with its satisfying setup of Gruyere, pork, pickles and mustard. Grato’s happy-hour menu also includes small bites like chicharrones cacio e pepe, calamari, meatball sliders and truffled arancini. “This is our gift to those who are working late or just getting the party started,” says Morgan. All these bites pair well with Grato’s frozen Moscow mules or its beautiful pear martinis, made with spiced butterfly pea tea syrup and a splash of lemon juice—a stir turns the violet blue concoction to a soft-pink hue! It’s a Houdini-esque trick, perfectly balanced in sweetness and tartness, and most welcomed at any hour. 1901 S. Dixie Highway, 561.404.1334
