Famed Fashion Designer from New York and Palm Beach Puts Her Passion for Rescue Animals on Display for a Red-Carpet Fashion Show to Remember

On Thursday, April 4th from 6-8pm, famed designer Jackie Rogers will host a fashion show worth barking about. In conjunction with Royal Palm Beach- based A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue, Rogers will unveil highlights of her new fall collection to be walked down the runway accompanied by adoptable dogs from the organization.
Rivaled only by her passion for fashion, Rogers has been a long-time animal lover. Though she has always had dogs, it wasn’t until four years ago that she turned to adoption and found her two long-haired dachshund dogs, Viva the Diva and Luvi. Today she is an avid supporter of rescue operations, and will merge her love for animals with that of couture fashion for the first time here in Palm Beach next month.
“I can’t think of a better way to showcase our fall collection than by pairing my two favorite things; fashion and animals,” said fashion designer, Jackie Rogers. “Viva and Luvi are at the center of everything that I do; I couldn’t live without them. A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue is a terrific non-profit organization that is completely funded by donations. They take in animals that wouldn’t be here today if not for their help. I’m excited to combine fashion
with this important cause and support them in every way that I can.”
Having done one event previously with the organization, Rogers understands their unique needs to raise funds. The non-profit organization is 100% run by volunteers, and in much need of funding. Event highlights will include an open bar and passed hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour. Guests are invited to play with the animals on site. Twenty percent of all proceeds on the night will benefit the organization.
“Jackie (Rogers) has been an amazing supporter of our efforts,” said Ruth Douthitt, Pesident of A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue. “Helping to raise funds and awareness is at the heart of our efforts, and go hand in hand with our ability to save lives. To date, we have rescued more than 13,000 innocent animals, a number we can only continue to grow with the help of people like Jackie. We’re honored to be involved in this philanthropic fashion show, and look
forward to it being a great success!”

ABOUT SECOND CHANCE PUPPIES AND KITTENS RESCUE:
A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue, founded in October 2007, is a 100% volunteer, foster-based 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue group based in Palm Beach County, Florida. All grant writing, fundraising, application reviewing, event planning, supply collection, bathing and bottle feeding is done by volunteers who seek only to save the lives of pets.
Now in its twelfth year, the organization has successfully rescued over 13,000 animals and continues to grow rapidly thanks in large part due to established relationships with various pet supply stores in Palm Beach County, including PETSMART and PETCO.
Accomplishing the goal of saving homeless pets’ lives by providing them with safe, healthy foster environments until they are adopted requires funding for food and medical needs. Financial contributions go directly to covering food and supplies, veterinary expenses and medical supplies, and our minimal overhead costs. A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue relies solely on donations. We do not receive any government funding or grants.
