Hanley Foundation's 23rd Annual Picnic

| May 8, 2018 | Parties

PB families united for Hanley Foundation’s lively 23rd annual picnic.

THE PARTY An afternoon family affair with a purpose—the Hanley Foundation welcomed more than 175 families and supporters to The National Croquet Center to lay down their red-and-white gingham blankets and take in the clear blue skies for lunch on the terrace in support of the foundation’s substance-abuse prevention programs in both public and private schools. THE GUESTS Running around the expansive green space, children soaked up the sun and endless amounts of fun activities, from face painting and a bounce house to balloon animals and an up-close-and-personal look at the remarkable wildlife from Busch Wildlife Sanctuary. The familycentric event hosted an adult silent auction as well as a children’s-only auction, where they were able to bid on items created specifically as a special token for them. THE HIGHLIGHTS Wrapping up the fun-filled afternoon, the Young Singers of Palm Beach showed off their vocal talents. Ryan Wertepny, executive director of prevention services, said: “We know that the best thing we can do to help keep our children safe from drugs and alcohol, is to spend time with them. ... The goal is to stop addiction before it even starts.”
