Dynamic Design

The design team of Cullman & Kravis introduces its third interiors book.

“OUR WHOLE WORLD is moving toward the aesthetic of clean lines... interiors have to follow suit, becoming leaner and more contemporary.” This notion, which has always lent itself to decorating homes by the sea, opens up the From Classic to Contemporary ($65, Monacelli Press), the gorgeous new coffee-table book from design stars Ellie Cullman and Tracey Pruzan. Featured projects from their eponymous firm include a classic Manhattan pied-à-terre infused with modernist elements; a grand Houston home tempered with light, cheerful hues; and our natural favorite: an oceanfront Palm Beach estate whose museum-quality art and antiques collection is set against whimsical seashell-paneled walls and a warm, tropical palette of corals and oceany hues of blue. The finished effect is elegant, progressive and unabashedly Palm Beach. “Palm Beach is a town with a finely honed sense of sophistication and taste,” notes Cullman. “There’s no place in the world quite like it.”
