A Cozy Nook

Hillstone's newest Palm Beach contribution brings forth a delectable menu of small eats, satisfying drinks and a snug ambiance.
Patrons can cozy up in a corner plush leather booth.

It’s no small feat for a restaurant to receive approval from the Town of Palm Beach, and yet Hillstone Restaurant Group has done it again. Nearly 18 years after bringing Palm Beach Grill to the island, the group pulled out all the stops for a sister restaurant of sorts: The Honor Bar at the Palm Beach Grill, a more casual spot that captures the area’s character nicely. Located in the adjacent space to the east of Palm Beach Grill—in the revamped The Royal Poinciana Plaza—The Honor Bar has made a strong impression on locals with its lively energy and warm, material richness centered around booths, banquette-style tables and an inviting main bar. Of course, there are similarities to Palm Beach Grill—mainly the gracious service for which Hillstone is known and the delicious food overseen by executive chef Andrew Schor.

In only a matter of weeks, The Honor Bar, which doesn’t accept reservations, and its casual yet elevated spirit have become favorites for both lunch and dinner. While small, The Honor Bar’s menu is abundant in flavors. The snacks, such as the burrata toast with wood-roasted tomatoes, and the jalapeno queso and guacamole dips are classics, while the sandwiches and salads bring in the variety. The kale and rotisserie chicken salad is drizzled with a roasted peanut vinaigrette. For the French dip au jus sandwich, the housemade French roll is stacked high with thinly sliced roasted prime rib. The Vieux CarrĂ© cocktail and classic martini always make delightful companions whether day or night. The wine list is mighty, and guests may even request a bottled wine from Palm Beach Grill. Whether for solo diner or date night, this restaurant bar hits all the demands. 340 Royal Poinciana Way, 561.209.2799
