What do you love about Palm Beach?
I spent the first part of my career in New York City before moving to Palm Beach to enjoy the beautiful weather and plenty of outdoor time year-round. Palm Beach has a wonderful mix of interesting and accomplished people while maintaining that small-town feel.
What inspires your work?
When I lived in NYC, I worked as a fashion stylist before I became a photographer, so fashion photography has always served as my primary inspiration. Fashion photography is unique in that you start with just about any creative vision and make that vision come to life through the setting, the models, the clothing, the poses, and the lighting. There is so much imagination in it.
When you are behind the camera, what drives you?
When I’m behind the camera, I’m driven by evoking a mood more than telling a story. Who is she? What is the vibe and the feeling? I am always hoping to capture those off moments, candid moments when people are not posing, when they are their natural selves. My goal is to convey that sense of ease that comes along with that.
What are some of your favorite hot spots in Palm Beach?
First and foremost, I love the beach, if that’s a hot spot! For dining, I really enjoy Cafe Boulud at The Brazilian Court Hotel and lunch by the ocean at the Four Seasons. For shopping, the shop at Kemble Interiors has the best finds.
