Graduate Hotels caters to the collegiate market with a collection of bespoke locations across the country, each designed to reflect the culture of that college town's campus. Still, you don’t have to be a film student to enjoy a stay in the Kevin McAllister suite or make like Tom Hanks in Big and tap into your inner child.
Four Graduate Hotels have created stunning suites, decked out from floor to ceiling in memorabilia and film-inspired decor, and each takes its cues from a different hit movie or TV series.
From New York City to Nashville, here are four film-inspired suites offering a travel experience you can't find anywhere else.
22 N. Loop Road, NY, New York / Website
The iconic Tom Hanks film takes new form in this toy-filled suite. Dubbed The Loft Suite, this room is inspired by Hanks’ character Josh Baskin's NYC apartment. All the bases are covered, including a life-size floor piano like that featured in the FAO Schwarz scene, and of course a Zoltar machine. The room fits up to six guests, with on-theme bunk beds and a VHS copy of the movie for a nostalgic watch party. The room also comes with a Polaroid camera, a wake-home Zoltar kit and Skee-ball set, nostalgic candies, 15 percent off discounts to shop FAO Shwarz, Discover and Sharper Image products, and more.
101 20th Ave. N., Nashville, TN / Website
In honor of the iconic singer and her 1980 film debut, this suite is inspired by Dolly Parton’s glamorous southern charm and her starring role in femme-power office flick 9 to 5. This chic, floral pattern room exudes all the chaos and glitter that Parton’s character Doralee Rhodes embodies. From shag carpet and disco ball-covered ceilings to opulent pink bedding on top of a California King waterbed, this room is truly a Dolly fan's dream come true.
210 E. Kirkwood Ave., Bloomington, IN / Website
If you ever wanted to spend a night in Joyce Byers' living room or have a snack in the Wheeler's basement over a game of Dungeons and Dragons, this suite is for you. Hop on the Walkie talkies to plan out the day's excursions, or use the room's vintage Polaroid camera to document your Eggo waffle feast. This '80s time warp replicates the Stranger Things set down to the flickering Christmas lights and aged-wood paneling.
1625 Hinman Ave., Evanston, IL / Website
Live Kevin McAllister's dream vacation in this replica of his parents’ bedroom. This '80s wonderland is filled with everything you know from the Home Alone film, including the famous Nero's pizza boxes and Kevin's "battle plan" map, which he created to scheme against the robbers. There is even an 80's-era television to watch Angels with Filthy Souls (ya filthy animal). The attention to detail is sure to wow any Home Alone fan. There are even family portraits (including a photo of Buzz's girlfriend) and aftershave in the bathroom for anyone looking to recreate Kevin's iconic bathroom mishap.
