Oh, the burger. Essentially a patty sandwich that has risen in the ranks of the most classic and delectable American food there is. While many can argue it’s a simple combo of beef, tomato, lettuce, onion and bun, a quality burger hits just right with a special variation of those signature ingredients, with an ambience to match.
Since not all burgers are made equal, we’ve compiled the 10 best burgers in Palm Beach County for your convenience.
12300 S Shore Blvd., Wellington / Website
Maxwell’s Plum was once a bustling singles bar and restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, catering to upper echelon folks on the scene. Now its legacy carries on in Florida’s horse and polo community of Wellington, under the tenured ownership of Jennifer Oz LeRoy. Back in the day one would order a mighty good cheeseburger at the New York original, which laid the groundwork for the current Maxwell’s Burger—eight ounces of wagyu beef topped with candied bacon, caramelized onion, smoked gouda and the chef’s special sauce.
340 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach / Website
It’s all about the vibes and handheld bites at The Honor Bar in Palm Beach, home to the freshly ground chuck, tomato and spicy slaw burger. Only walk-ins are accepted at this quaint, wooden-lined restaurant that falls under the Hillstone Restaurant Group portfolio (which means you know it’s good).

If you’re craving BBQ but not enough to make the trek to Texas, Tropical Smokehouse in West Palm Beach is your answer. A true neighborhood joint that meshes the slow roast technique with Latin and Caribbean influence, Tropical Smokehouse is a must for your burger fix and anything barbecue. You can’t go wrong with either the Old Fashioned, a double smash burger with pickles, onion and sauce, or the Chopped Brisket, which comes on a Martin’s potato roll.
510 E Ocean Ave., Boynton Beach / Website
A full-service retail butcher shop, bar and restaurant, The Butcher and The Bar promises an old-school vibe to enjoy premium cuts of meat and poultry in Downtown Boynton Beach. The all-beef hot dog featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has garnered quite a following, but that’s not to say the Umami Steakburger doesn’t hold its own. Two house-ground Florida beef steakburger patties made of ribeye, tenderloin and strip are topped with a 14-day dry-aged Florida beef tri-tip for an explosive bomb of flavor.
4575 Military Trail #102, Jupiter / Website
When you just want a burger and a milkshake, CG Burgers in Jupiter is the spot. While CG Burgers is counter-serve and offers build-your-own options, it’s far from Burger King. The burgers are made with USDA Prime Beef and are some of the best patties in town. Order a single or a double of any of the CG favorites, ranging from the Farmhouse Burger with bleu cheese to the Cuban Burger with smoked ham.
4580 Donald Ross Road #100, Palm Beach Gardens / Website
Tim and Jenny Lipman are the husband-and-wife duo behind this dual concept merged into one, known for its oysters, happy hour and communal spirit. While pork is an obvious contender, the menu features a juicy burger option, known as the Chargrilled Burger—a patty combo of Creekstone Farms brisket and chuck, accompanied by lettuce, onion and Tomato Pistou. Opt for fries or a salad with pickled vegetables as a side.
1901 S Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach / Website
“Grateful” in Italian, Grato is a mecca for housemade pasta, wood-fired pies and everything tomato and mozzarella in a casually elegant environment. While it’s easy to get lost in the carbs, the prime double burger calls for extra attention. Oozing over house brioche with remoulade, aged cheddar and cornichons, this burger is heaven in a bite.
2300 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., West Palm Beach / Website
For a night out with steak top of mind, Raindancer Steakhouse delivers the goods. Special occasions, catch-ups with friends, you name it… this spot accommodates it all in an old world setting that doesn’t try too hard. Since steak is the name of the game here, it’s only fitting that the burgers are true delights. A sirloin house blend is the stuff that dreams are made of in the nine-ounce cheeseburger with hand-cut fries.
350 S County Road, Palm Beach / Website
Buccan has long been a staple in the Palm Beach dining scene, known for its exceptional American cuisine crafted by six-time James Beard semifinalist Chef Clay Conley. Far from the average American joint, Buccan is upscale yet casual enough to hit the bar and laugh a little extra loud with your group. Your order should consist of the prime beef burger with aged cheddar and cornichons and the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
4610 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens / Website
This farm-to-table eatery in Palm Beach Gardens is always buzzing, serving seasonal New American cuisine in a lively patio setting. You’ll want to indulge in The Cooper Burger, which is an eight-ounce butcher’s blend with lettuce, tomato, aged Vermont cheddar and secret sauce on a nontraditional griddled challah bun. Top your burger order with hand-cut fries or coleslaw and you’ll be a happy camper.
