It’s no wonder this Texas haunt came in first place. The owner is a New York Times bestselling author and James Beard Best Chef Award winner. Aaron Franklin and his wife Stacy have perfected all things barbeque, most notably the famous brisket that tastes so good, you’ve just got to take a picture.
In the honorable second place, you’ll find Rippy’s Bar & Grill in Nashville, TN. This is a spot that’s all about those fall-off-the-bone ribs. The third place finish goes to Terry Black’s Barbeque, also in Austin, TX. Enjoy some authentic pork ribs with a cold drink in the Texas heat for a classic summer moment!
Texas is a big hitter in the barbecue scene, claiming seven of the most sharabale BBQ joints in the country. Tennessee follows with four spots of its own, but New York, California, Michigan, Nevada and others also make the list. The south is certainly represented, with restaurants from Georgia and North Carolina on the list, but who saw Illinois coming?
