This summer’s favorite reads examine female power players in all their glamour and, of course, include dark twists to keep the pages turning.
Summer reading season commences with two glitzyfiction favorites. Palm Beach regular Emily Liebert’s newest novel, Pretty Revenge ($16, Simon & Schuster), has all the makings of a beach-read page-turner: retribution, glitz and glamour, twists and turns—and a dark past—as one woman sets out to take on the very woman who destroyed her life 18 years earlier. Rouge ($15, Macmillan) by Richard Kirshenbaum examines the sexy, glamorous journey of a group of modern cosmetics industry icons who will stop at nothing to stay at the top—including murder. It’s already been praised by local tennis star Venus Williams and optioned by Academy Award-winning producer Wendy Finerman.
