Hailey Bieber is the face of Anthony Baratta’s Nantucket collection with Weekend Max Mara. Prior to the launch, she was photographed wearing pieces from the line at Baratta’s home in the Hamptons.
When Anthony Baratta was tapped by Max Mara to design a capsule collection, he didn’t think twice. “For a designer to do a collection of clothing is a dream,” Baratta says. The decorating pro has been creating schemes for summerhouses—and every other type of residence—for nearly 40 years, and his breezy collection with Weekend Max Mara, coined Nantucket, takes cues from those coastal havens. “The collection was inspired by all the great summer locations of the United States,” says Baratta. “The patterns—from red-and-white gingham to stripes and florals to blues and whites based on the gorgeous china patterns out there—are very classic; they really say American summer.” Along with tailored dresses and beautifully cut skirts, the 12-piece collection features a duster coat decorated with white and blue chinoiserie vases and sunny yellow trousers depicting illustrated motifs of Baratta’s own furniture designs. While Baratta went out of his way to ensure the pieces exude a classic sensibility, he envisions another collaboration with Max Mara being more avant-garde. Although nothing formal is planned yet, stay tuned. Bloomingdale’s, The Gardens Mall; maxmara.com
