Non-fungible tokens, better known as NFTs, have grown so popular, major brands from fashion to spirits can’t help but get in the game, and what’s better than one major fashion house joining the revolution? Two!
Adidas and Prada recently partnered to not create the Prada Re-Nylon collection, but today, the brand’s take a step into the metaverse to create their own collaborative collection of NFTs.
Dubbed the Adidas for Prada-resource project, it’s set to feature user-generated and creator-owned art, which means you’re not asked to simply buy into the Adidas for Prada-resource NFTs, but in fact, you and everyone you know are invited to participate in the project’s creation and ownership.
“As an artist, you think about different ways to make something permanently, and it’s really magical to think the work we make together through this project will be permanently recorded,” said Zach Lieberman, a New York City-based artist who’s been tapped to play a large role.

Anyone is able to register and submit a unique photograph to the open-Metaverse NFT project, and 3,000 of those images will be selected and minted as NFTs. Those selected will still remain owners of their individual NFT tile and can sell their NFT on any secondary market.
The 3,000 selected images will then be knit into one large-scale NFT project, brought together by Lieberman. Adidas and Prada will then bring the large patch-work NFT to auction on SuperRare, an online marketplace for curated NFT artworks.
A majority of the proceeds made from the sale of the NFT will be donated to Slow Factory, a non-profit organization on a mission to help marginalized people become climate leaders through regenerative design, open education and narrative change.
Starting Monday, Jan. 24, anyone can register with a digital wallet for a chance to create their own unique NFT for possible inclusion in the Adidas for Prada-resource project. The one caveat is that creators must submit a photograph using a filter designed by Lieberman.
The SuperRare auction will take place from Friday, Jan. 28, to Monday, Jan. 31. For more information, please visit Adidas for Prada-resource online, or join the Adidas: Prada re-source Discord. You can also find additional information on Prada’s Re-Nylon website.
