American Beauty
There are few brands that capture the personal manner and sensibility of its founder more than Tory Burch. The American lifestyle brand reflecting an effortless, classic style recently opened a concept store on one of the busiest blocks on Worth Avenue. The inviting and warm retail space embraces little bits of all that Tory Burch offers: ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, eyewear, watches, accessories, swimwear and, of course, home goods. A fan of Palm Beach and resort design, Burch sourced vintage rattan, wicker and bamboo design elements as a nod to her new location. “One of my most treasured finds is a rattan side table I discovered in Palm Beach many years ago. It sits in my office, and I love looking at it every day. Rattan felt like a natural direction for our concept shop, capturing the casual glamour of Palm Beach.” Now, the Palm Beach store joins the 250 other Tory Burch boutiques around the world, each supporting the Tory Burch Foundation, which helps empower women entrepreneurs. 225 Worth Ave.
Powder Room
To bring your bathrooms from so-so stylish to divinely sophisticated, the latest designer collections at Pioneer Linens of Labrazel favorites will keep your guests lingering. Interior designer Jamie Drake, who has designed for celebrities like Madonna and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has an eye for blending modern and traditional styles seamlessly, as seen in his Parquet collection made of kabibe shell. Two new styles by Drake are slated for early summer: a rustic ceramic from Italy with handpainted 14K gold and a natural shell collection from the Philippines. Designer Michael Berman, featured regularly on Bravo and HGTV, is known for his American modernism inspiration, and brings a mouth-blown Italian crystal collection that is both gorgeously simple and slightly abstract. Across the pond, London designer Justin Van Breda, most often influenced by his native South Africa, creates rich, inviting designs with an updated English aesthetic like his Claudia collection, made of chiseled alabaster with a solid, structured feel. 210 N.
