Yogi Holly Miller Weston on Mastering Self-Care

Holly Miller Weston started practicing yoga as a theater major at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and she was immediately hooked.

After returning to her hometown of Palm Beach, Weston knew she would open a studio of her own. The Yoga Society, formerly Haute Yoga, made its debut at The Royal Poinciana Plaza five years ago, followed by its Clematis Street sister location four months later. Now, the owner and yogi is refreshing the studio to reflect its loyal community, as well her own journey of personal growth and reflection.

What’s behind the new name?
HOLLY MILLER WESTON: When people think of our studio, they think of connection and family. It has become a second home and safe haven to our students. And, for me, the most beautiful part of owning this studio is the people I have met, connected and shared my heart with.

How can you incorporate yoga into your life if you’re busy?
HMW:
We must choose to make time for ourselves. Self-care and self-love are paramount to internal growth. No. 1 tip to anyone practicing yoga—new or not: It is not a competition. It’s not about being the best, the strongest, the most flexible. It is about showing up, being open, and present.
