Designer Tanya Taylor founded her namesake independent fashion brand in New York City in 2012 and she's headed south to Palm Beach this winter to celebrate 10 years in business. Channeling modern, artful and creative fashion, Taylor uses color, tecture and her original hand-painted prints to inspire women to express themselves. We caught up with the designer in advance of her pop up at The Colony Hotel happening on Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st.

Congrats on your 10th anniversary! How do you plan to celebrate?
We’re marking this milestone by opening our first retail space, and one of the best parts about it is being able to curate the space with all the things that inspire me and make me happy. I also want to celebrate by honoring the incredible women and people in my life who have contributed in so many special ways to what I’ve built.
Tell us about the pop-up you have planned for Palm Beach.
I love collaboration, so when we decided to pop up in Palm Beach, I knew I wanted to work with friends to bring this to life. My friends Daphne Oz and Vanessa Mulroney know Palm Beach inside and out and bring so much creativity to everything they do. It’s been such a fun process. Given that this is our first pop-up, it felt so right to host it in the heart of Palm Beach. The Colony Hotel is simply iconic and charming, a wonderful backdrop for our Resort 2023 collection.
What do you love about the island? Any favorite hotspots?
The elegance and mid-century glamour that exudes from every corner. Carriage House is one of my favorite spots!
What are some gift ideas for the holiday season?
One can never have too many candles. For this holiday season, we teamed up with dinnerware brand Misette to create an exclusive set of tapered candles that are handpainted in our resort color palette and will be available for sale on our website. It’s the best gift for the art lover and hostess in your life.
What inspired you with your latest collection?
That freeing sense of escapism when you’re in some place beautiful and relaxing like Palm Beach. I think the women here will love our dramatic floral print taffeta gowns, crisp shirting with unexpected twists and drapes, and effortless dresses for day-to-night dressing for the busy social season.
