Here's What Happened at Darbster Rescue's 5th Annual Fur Ball

It was raining cats and dogs this February when Palm Beach’s pooches and people gathered at the 5th Annual Fur Ball. The sold-out event featured a "Pal-entines" theme and proceeds that benefitted Darbster Rescue. Co-chairs Victor Figueredo, Jacqui Michel, Hope Geier Smith, Laura Moore Tanne, Patricia Quick, David Granville, Honorary Chair Matthew E. Bershadker, and President and CEO of the ASPCA hosted this fur-friendly annual affair, garnering the support of 160 attendees. The warm-hearted event featured a silent auction of creative luxury pet beds designed by interior designers, a tail-wagging speech praising Darbster's impact and the unveiling of a new transport van sponsored in memory of a former board member Felicia Taylor by her husband Peter Gottsegen. The event generated nearly $600,000 in donations for Darbster Rescue's transport and adoption programs.
