Brick sculpture in the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens
Among the beautiful exteriors, the museum and sculpture garden is currently displaying Salient Lines: Vintage and Supercar Portraits by Eric Zetterquist. With works across museums and galleries in the U.S., China, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand, Zetterquist has established himself through his prowess in abstractions from photography. This series adapts his technique of “Object Portraits,” encouraging the audience to admire the originality of the form. “I am delighted to be exhibiting at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, coinciding with its annual Sculpture in Motion exhibition,” says Zetterquist. “As with Italian futurist painters of the early 20th century, I work to pluck the salient lines from brilliant automotive design and present them in a way that portrays both motion and the excitement they engender.” 253 Barcelona Road, West Palm Beach
Established in 1936, The Society of the Four Arts remains a culturally abundant staple of the Palm Beach area through works of art, literature, music and drama. The organization prides itself on its arrangement of concerts, films, art exhibitions, notable speakers, workshops, classes and children’s programs. Across the 10-acre plot is a plethora of gardens, sculptures, pavilions and more, all sharing the history behind the magical location. Some highlights along the signature walking tour include the The Four Arts’ Botanical Gardens, the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden and other monumental buildings. 100 Four Arts Plaza, Palm Beach
Founder and plant enthusiast Beatrice Linnea Bast creatively paints with nature around her. In one of her recent South Florida collections, Flow, Linnea Bast embeds her passion for horticulture on a large scale. This stunning series, including “The Wave” (2021) and “Meander” (2021), demonstrates the importance of the environment. “I wanted to bring a sense of flow and serenity into each piece, designing with a natural material and enhancing it with a modern twist,” says Linnea Bast. “This collection is important to my larger body of work because I pushed boundaries on scale and texture, creating large three-dimensional canvases that complement the movement of each design.”
